ERNIE TURLA, English teacher, lexicographer, poet laureate, essayist, philosopher, author, nationalist

Born on January 6, 1938 in Lubao, Pampanga, Philippines. Immigrated to the U.S. in 1968.
Holds a B.S. in Education, A.B. in English, and Ph.D in lexicography.
Author of Classic Kapampangan Dictionary, Kapampangan Folk Songs and Poetry, The Divine Fairy Tale.
President of: Akademyang Kapampangan International, Academia Ning Amanung Sisuan International (ANASI), Aguman Capampangan Northwest U.S.A.
Wrote poems in such books as A Prism of Thoughts, Rhymes of Greatness, Best Poets
of the Millennium, etc. which are published by the National Library of Poetry.
Founder / moderator of forums including DILA (Defenders of Indigenous Languages of the Archipelago), Searchlight, Fil-am Forum and Amanung Sisuan.
Crowned "Poet Laureate" by the Holy Angel University on May 17, 2008, and by the United Poets Laureate International on August 10, 2008.
